Palau is now an internationally recognised centre for fun and excitement, thoroughly cosmopolitan and dynamic, accommodating thousands of fun lovers every season.
You will find all the entertainments you might need to make your holiday go with a swing !
The Marina and Archipelago are a mariners delight, islands to explore set in crystal clear waters.
If you want to be a sailor for a day, there are boats for hire!
Other water sports include sub aqua diving, windsurfing, kite surf, in addition to the more conventional sailing boats and catamarans.
You can also play tennis, ride across the ‘Gabbiani’ island dunes or across the Mediterranean vegetation of the gulf ‘Le saline’.
By mountain bike or by foot, you can reach the long ground paths that scramble up the hill, near the coast, and there discover ancient archaeological sites.
In the evening you can’t be bored. There are many restaurants, bars, pubs and discotheques.
From the end of June to the first days of September on the seafront of Palau, in the evening, there is an ethnic market, where you can find products of ethnic traditions, from the African, ebony statuette, to the Peruvian coloured needle works, or from the Indonesian lamps to their clothes. Of course there are also all the typical Sardinian products: carpets, hand made baskets, and for greedy people: honey, sweets, ‘torrone’ (a kind of nougat) and liqueurs with Mediterranean essences taste.
Others entertainments are: an open air cinema and theatre, in first showing.
Every Saturday evening, on the square in the centre of Palau, there is a live concert and you can choose between dancing to tango or waltz or to South American music or watching to the other dancers.
Other important summer events in Palau are the several dance music concerts of young artists, and the folk shows with typical Sardinian dances and songs.
